Automatic Smart-Tag English-German translation system for Word XP documents using 20,000 word dictionary.  Adaptable for French, Spanish and Italian translations.

Database Developer – Created multimedia foreign language translation application for French, German, Spanish and Italian.  Contains 2000 phrases and a 20,000 word dictionary in each language with audio support.

Eventually, I add the capability to translate free form text into synthesized speech.  This current design of mine seems quite idiomatic and natural compared to other commercial products.  See how it works by clicking here

Microsoft Office Automation - developed Microsoft Word Wizards to produce all company contracts.  I participated in defining business rules to build technical designs for generation of legal contracts.   Hypertext help is provided for all data fields via the Office Assistant and Microsoft Agent speech synthesis control     (see also my Letter of Introduction)

Microsoft Office Document Automation - developed a Visual Basic Client Sales Presentation system tightly integrated with Excel and Powerpoint to automatically assemble sales presentation documents.  The interface is extensively database driven for ease of maintenance, and includes a convenient drag and drop "tree" with which users can customize their presentations    (see also my Letter of Introduction)

Microsoft Excel VBA Developer - translated existing Lotus 1-2-3 macros for engineering analysis to Excel VBA 5.0 code standards. Defined technical design standards for analysis of engineering data. Created user dialogs, easy list selections, added editable menus for all macro functions and provided hypertext help via the Office Assistant.

Microsoft Solutions and Database Programmer - using Visual Basic 5.0 Enterprise Edition, Word, Excel and Access VBA as well as WordBasic.  Created SQL-Server and OLE based distributed multimedia user solutions. Upgraded firm from Word 7.0 to Word 8.0 VBA with The Legal MacPac and PC-DOCS document management system.  Created four firm wide Visual Basic and Access database applications including SQL Server support for address book information.

Database Developer – created a Visual Basic, Access and Excel business information system to collect sales forecasting data from the field.  Data is combined into corporate reports in MS Access.  Sales Reps can also view their monthly data in a familiar Excel spreadsheet format.   This improves the original worksheet data processing scheme by eliminating error-prone performance links.

Designed an Access reports interface, and custom reports including a crosstab report with dynamic columns that is formatted completely in Access Basic

Microsoft Access Programmer – created three turn-key database applications with custom reports and charts:  a Healthcare benefits database, a scanned document database, and an Access reports front end for the Saros? Electronic Document Management System (EDMS).  I developed, a Natural Language query interface, a full security system with login based on the Microsoft TechNet? specification and a Windows help file in Robohelp.

The Industrial Relations scanned document database included OLE hooks to MS Word. I then wrote elaborate Wordbasic macros to automatically format approximately 2000 scanned documents for the EDMS and permit executive tracking of document origin and summary information in my database.

Software: Access 2.0, SQL, ADT, API, ODBC, Word 6.0, Excel 5.0 and RoboHelp 2.6

Wordbasic Macro Developer – Created a custom document management system based on the PC DOCs legal document management API.

Debugged and polished existing code base and added new features. Redesigned corporate logo and added desktop publishing values.

Created a Visual Basic Internet address book application. Attorneys can directly access client web addresses and e-mail links using Internet Explorer as an ActiveX control on a VB form.
